Why should I line my pipes instead of replacing them?
Traditional pipe replacement removes the failing pipe and installs a new one — which means a messy construction site, significant time, and in almost all circumstances a higher cost than lining. NuFlow’s cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining is non-destructive, eco-friendly, non-invasive, cost-effective, and installed in a fraction of the time.
What is NuDrain?
NuDrain is a lining technology that rehabilitates sections of pipework by pulling in a cured-in-place liner. The felt-based liner is formed over an inflatable bladder, saturated in epoxy resin, pulled into position inside the existing host pipe, and inflated. After the epoxy cures, the bladder is removed — leaving a new structural pipe within the old one.
Where can NuDrain be used?
In any section of drain, sewer, rainwater, or utility pipework — vertical, horizontal, or a mix of both. Liners install inside any host pipe material, including metals, plastics, ceramics, and organics.
What size pipes can NuDrain handle?
Diameters from 1½" to 12" or more depending on conditions. Any length is manageable; as a guide, roughly 150 feet of 4" pipe can be lined at one time.
How does NuDrain manage bends, connections, and branches?
The flexible bladder inside the liner inflates to push the epoxy-saturated felt around the contours of the host pipe, creating a mechanical bond. NuFlow also offers specific liners for Y and T connections.
How much access is needed?
The access points, cleanouts, and manholes we use are typically already present — that’s the point of trenchless.
How long does the lining process take?
Typically 2–8 hours depending on the section of pipe being lined.
How soon can the pipe return to service?
Once the bladder is removed, the cured liner is camera-inspected for quality assurance — and the pipe can be back in service within about 10 minutes of passing.
How long does the water need to be off?
For some drain applications the system doesn’t need to be turned off at all. When it does, we schedule the work during the least inconvenient hours for your home, building, or facility.
Are there temperature limits for lined pipes?
NuDrain can be applied with varying resins matched to the pipe’s discharge temperature and the chemicals being transported. Special resins tolerate temperatures above 212°F.
What if the pipe is cracked, broken, or full of tree roots?
NuDrain can compensate for deviation in diameter or alignment caused by collapse, degradation, or cracking. Protrusions, roots, and debris are thoroughly cleaned out before lining begins.
What quality assurance goes into the process?
Compliance with key steps is recorded throughout the process, and a camera inspection is performed immediately after curing to verify the result.
How long does pipe lining last?
The warranty is 10 years, and the anticipated life expectancy is 75 years.
Is pipe lining safe?
The epoxy meets or exceeds the physical properties set forth by ASTM as well as other national and international standards for CIPP rehabilitation.
How long has this technology been in use?
